As part of our term two Inquiry unit ‘Curious Geography and Creative Sustainability’, the year 5/6 students attended an Excursion on Tuesday 13th May 2025 to Metal Art World; the world’s largest indoor scrap metal art gallery and a Guinness World Record Holder, showcasing unique artworks from international artists.
The students especially enjoyed exploring the exhibition of over 200 sculptures and soar through thrilling adventures of the 9D flying cinema with motion seats and multi-sensory effects.
This is what some of our students had to say:
SLA1
Marcus: Yesterday we went to Metal Art World, which was a metal museum with heaps of sculptures. It had a horror house, a 9D cinema and a mirror maze. There was a metal mummy playing chess and I decided to play with him. It was fun because we could walk around the museum and interact with the sculptures.
Harlie: Metal Art World was so great. It was so interesting to see what such creative people can do with spare metal parts. They also have a Guinness World record. My favourite part was sitting in the big metal throne. It was so amazing!
Sienna: I liked Metal Art World because it had lots of interesting things made out of rubber, tyres, springs and more. They also had lots of fun activities. Some of my favourites were the mirror maze and making a crown. My favourite statue was the Shrek. It was very fun.
SLA2
Phoebe: I enjoyed the Mirror Maze because even though I felt I was getting lost, I knew I was in a safe place. I liked how the sculptures were really big and detailed.
Leo: I thought it was very surprising because I had never heard of this place as they hold the world record for most recycled metal sculptures in the world. It is underrated.
Joanna: It was very creative, and it shows that once you put your mind to something, you can do anything. I thought it would be impossible to make sculptures like this because you would need a lot of patience.
SLA3
Xavier: The excursion was very exciting and the sculptures were very creative. I really loved the 9D cinema experience because it was very realistic.
Lilly: The excursion was a lot of fun. I loved the mirror maze because it was colourful and a lot of fun. The sculptures were very beautiful.
Dom: The excursion was exciting. We got to see a lot of metal sculptures that were created by artist from Thailand. It was inspirational to see how the scrap metals are used to make sculptures. I liked the mirror maze as it was fun and it had amazing artwork to see.
