Principals Report

"A mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take."
As we prepare to celebrate Mother's Day this weekend, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible role that mums, grandmothers, and special people play in the lives of our students. Their love, strength, and unwavering support are felt in everything we do. We’re very excited to host our first-ever Mother’s Day Breakfast on Monday morning – a special opportunity to come together and celebrate the wonderful women in our students’ lives.
A huge thank you to our amazing parent group for running the Mother’s Day stall throughout the week. It’s been so heartwarming to see students carefully selecting gifts – a beautiful tradition that brings joy to both children and families.
Staff began Term 2 with a full-day professional learning workshop led by our STAR/Links trainers from the United States. This was a valuable opportunity to deepen our understanding of the STAR/Links program, and we are already seeing the positive impact as teams implement new strategies across classrooms.
This week also saw the return of our much-loved Special Olympics Bocce program. Our visiting athletes bring so much joy and energy, and it’s fantastic to see the excitement and engagement from our students as they participate in these inclusive weekly sessions.
Finally, members of our leadership team attended our Department of Education network conference focused on Thriving Culture and Empowered Leadership this week. These events are an important part of our ongoing professional growth, offering us rich learning, fresh perspectives, and renewed energy to lead our school forward with purpose and care.
Wishing all our families a lovely Mother’s Day.
Warm regards,
Lindy Abernethy
