From the Leadership Team

Dear GPS Community
A very warm welcome back to term two. We have hit the ground running and I’m looking forward to an action-packed term full of learning and fun.
Throughout this term, I will continue to host Parent/Principal evening sessions. These gatherings offer a valuable opportunity for us to come together as a community, focussing on the well-being of the young people in our care. Together, we will explore and discuss current and relevant issues impacting our children and families. By fostering a strong partnership between school and home, these sessions enable us to strengthen these essential relationships and continue to build our strong school community.
This term, I will continue to present the documentary Chasing Childhood. This insightful film provides compelling information for both parents and educators, encouraging us to reimagine what childhood looks like in 2025. It highlights the barriers and obstacles that may hinder our children from experiencing a rich and authentic childhood.
The first screening will be on Wednesday, May 14, from 6.30pm in the school’s Resource Centre. Registration for the event can be via our Facebook page or simply get in touch with the school to reserve your seat. Two more sessions will be held later in the term.
Yours Sincerely
Darren

Mid-Year Reports
Teachers have started working on putting together their mid-year reports for students. For families that had students enrolled at Greenwith Primary School in 2024, your access to your child’s report through the Sentral for Parents app would not have changed.
For new families and students, please ensure the Parents for Sentral app has been downloaded from your phones app store. Your child’s access key would have been provided to you earlier this year and will need to be populated within the app to connect to your child’s profile.
Please contact the school if you are encountering any problems with the Sentral for Parents app.
Reports will be released at 3:10pm on Wednesday 2nd of July (Term 2, Week 10).
Attendance
In South Australia, all school children up to the age of 16 are required by law to attend school regularly. Everyday your child attends school counts, as regular attendance and being on time everyday helps students to:
- develop a sense of belonging
- develop and maintain friendships
- be more engaged at school
- progress with their learning
- experience success at school
It is important that students develop habits of regular attendance at any early age, beginning from the time they are enrolled.
If your child is absent, please notify the school or class teacher of the reason for the absence through the Sentral app, email, or a phone call.
2025 School Fee Reminder
Thank you to everyone who has paid their school fees for 2025. This is a reminder that fees were due in full by the end of term 1. (Friday 11 April) If your school fees are outstanding, urgent action is now required. Payment on QKR! app is still available.
School Card Scheme (assistance for low-income families)
The School Card scheme is administered by the Department for Education (DfE) and provides financial assistance towards the educational expenses incurred by families at government and non-government schools who meet the eligibility criteria.
Eligibility for School Card assistance is dependent upon the combined family income for the 2023/2024 financial year being within the School Card income limits. School card applications are lodged online. Information and applications can be found at www.sa.gov.au/education/schoolcard
