Artvo Excursion Grade 5

AMAZING ART- Grade 5 Collage Incursion

Our Collage Incursion on Tuesday the 6th of May greatly enriched our learning and was a terrific experience! Within our inquiry into ‘How we express ourselves,’ students made connections to the central idea; Creating and responding to art develops understanding of ourselves and the world around us. As well as connections with the key concepts of form and perspective.

We explored our creativity through hands on collage making. Guided by visiting artist 'Mysterious Al,' students learnt about colour, composition, layering techniques and mixed media art. Throughout the session, we experimented with using a variety of coloured paper, which we tore by hand to create our own unique character and artwork. We enthusiastically embraced the opportunity to develop artistic skills and personal expression.

We thank Mysterious Al, for sharing his expertise and artisan journey with us. Especially the way in which he encouraged and inspired everyone to embrace mistakes and follow their imagination to create such amazing art!

The Grade 5 Team look forward to sharing more of our wonderful art with our school community, as we embark upon our Mini Exhibition this term.

Kind regards,                                                               Grade 5 Team
