The Library Book Fair that has just finished was a great success with just over $8,000 in sales. This has allowed me to choose about $1,000 worth of books from the fair and I will have another $1,400 Book Commission to spend later in the year when lots of the best books get published just before Christmas.
Thank you to all those who came, browsed and bought. To those who came and browsed, I hope I have managed to choose a few of your favourites for the library.
Next week on Wednesday 21st May, we will be celebrating “books and reading”, along with thousands of children around the country, by participating in National Simultaneous Storytime. We will be listening to “The truck cat”, By Deborah Frenkel and Danny Snell. “It is a heartwarming tale of immigration, identity and finding home.”
