A message from our Principal

Dear St. Brendan's School Community,

We celebrate the appointment of Pope Leo XIV.  His election marks a new chapter for the Catholic Church, and we look forward to his leadership and vision for the future.

We have had a wonderful two weeks filled with various activities and events at our school. From Catholic Education Week celebrations to our successful Open Day and the Inter-school Cross Country, our students and staff have been actively engaged and making the most of every opportunity.

Catholic Education Week

This year, we celebrated Catholic Education Week, reflecting on the theme 'Pilgrims of Hope'. Students participated in their own pilgrimage from Jackson Park, walking back to school and stopping for moments of prayer and reflection along the walking track set along the Goulburn River.

Many thanks to Mrs. Leanne Pellegrino for all her organisation and our Catholic Identity team for preparing all the resources for the day. To our Parents, Teachers, and Learning Support Officers who joined us for the walk, thank you. It was a great day to be out reflecting on our school theme.

2026 Enrolments - Now Open

On Tuesday, 6th May, we had our first Open Day, where we showed over 50 new families around our school. It was a fantastic opportunity to share with prospective families all the great things our school has to offer. As we toured the school, teachers and students welcomed our visitors and shared with them the amazing things we get up to here at St. Brendan's.

Enrolments are now open for 2026 and can be completed online by visiting our school website and clicking on the Enrol Now button.

We have an additional Open Day session coming up on Wednesday, 21st May at 9:15 am, 10:15 am, and 4:30 pm. To register for an Open Day session, please follow this link. The event will begin in the school hall with a welcome and a brief presentation, followed by a guided tour.

Mothers’ Day Morning Tea

On Thursday, we hosted a Mothers’ Day Morning Tea in the LEC.  It was great to see so many special women who make up our school community gather for a cuppa and reading before school.

Following this, 3/4 Secchi and 3/4 McNamara/Caldow led us in a beautiful Mother’s Day prayer to acknowledge the wonderful things they do for us all.  After this, our mothers and special visitors were invited into our classrooms to complete some activities with their children and see what they have been up to in their classrooms.

Thanks to the P&F and staff for organising tea, coffee, and biscuits for this celebration.

School Uniforms and Smart Devices

A friendly reminder to please ensure your child is wearing the correct school uniform each day. You can review the full St Brendan’s Primary School Uniform Guidelines here.

As the days are still warm, students are able to wear their summer uniforms until further notice. However, it is cooler in the mornings, so we ask that all families ensure that jumpers and tracksuit pants are labeled with your child's name.

We are starting to get a collection of unclaimed and unnamed jumpers that are going back to the second-hand uniform shop.

Sports Uniform Days:

  • Foundation to Year 2: Monday & Wednesday
  • Years 3 to 6: Tuesday & Thursday

Uniform Reminders:

  • Earrings must be simple studs or sleepers.
  • Hair longer than shoulder length must be tied back with a green or black hair tie.

Smart Devices:

Smart devices (including phones and smartwatches) are not needed during the school day. If your child brings one for after-school use, it must be dropped off at the school office before school and collected at the end of the day.

Before and After School Care - Uniting

We are pleased to announce that we have partnered with Uniting to provide before and after school care for our students.

  • Before School Care:      7:00am – 8:30am
  • After School Care:         3:20pm – 6:00pm

While a start date is yet to be confirmed, Uniting is now accepting expressions of interest. Please see additional attachments to email for further information. If you are interested, please complete the form by following this link:  Expression of Interest Form

Barker Ave and Knight Street Gates - Child Safety Update

For the safety and security of all students, we will be closing the Barker Ave and Knight Street gates at 8:55 am each morning.  Any students arriving after this time will need to enter the school grounds via the front office.

If you are picking up your child during the day, please ensure you visit the front office and sign your child out via the iPad system.

The gates will be reopened at the end of the day for home pickup. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe environment for all students.
