Student Wellbeing

Our students were asked- If you could magically do anything, what is one thing that you would do to support the wellbeing of young people?
And this is what they said:
- Give well being classes to the young children
- Sharing good wishes with others
- Be kind
- If I could magically do anything to change the wellbeing of young people it would be, I would try remove social media from developing. For example when parents use life hacks on like TikTok, we should be using our common sense to teach our children lessons.
- I would donate to schools that are less fortunate to give children more education
- If I could do anything magically it would be to time travel. And to help the well-being of young people I would teach them to reduce screen time and increase their healthy habits.
- Make sure that everyone gets an education and get everyone out of any type of poverty.
- and more....
Each year our grade 3-6's complete the Student Resilience Survey. The Student Resilience Survey has been administered to more than 900,000 young people aged between 7–19 across 3,500 schools globally. This is a snapshot but gives SJV teaching staff opportunity to understand how our students are feeling and what they are thinki. As you can see in the graphs below the majority of our students are feeling connected, protected and respected.
Above you can see most students are feeling safe at home and more are getting 8 hours sleep. Are these your children. These graphs can be great conversation starters and their are direct correlations between sleep and concertation at school!
