Dear Families,

Class Masses Begin....

This Friday we begin our 'class masses' for 2025. It is a wonderful way to gather, give praise and ask blessings from our God! 

This week 3-4LK  will host our Mass taking the theme of Easter!

 

 All students attend unless there is a class or level excursion. 

Morning Tea will follow in the staffroom for 

3-4LK class and families.  Please bring a plate. All ingredients are to be listed . No nuts including food cooked in nut oil, or fresh cream. 

ANZAC Day Liturgy

Our annual Anzac Day Liturgy was held on the oval near the flagpoles on Thursday afternoon. Thank you to all the parents that could attend and join us for this commemorative event. We also thank you to all the students and families that brought flowers to place at the flag pole on the day.

National Therapy Dog Day

National Therapy Animal Day 2025 is on April 30th.  April 30th is dedicated to recognizing the role of all therapy animals in providing emotional and mental support. A short Video 

confirms this date, highlighting the importance of these animals. 

Calling all Mothers & Special Women

Breast cancer Fundraiser.

Grade 5/6 Public Speaking Debating Program

This week our grade 5/6 began the first week of a debating program that will continue throughout the term. Later this term families will be invited to come and hear their debating. 

GEM Awards

This week we had two award winners.

Nanta won an empathy award for being  kind to others and helps people when they need help.

Jason won a Gratitude award  for always smiling and helping others.

 

 

Year 5-6 Camp Information session

The Year 5-6 Camp will take place from Wednesday May 21st - Friday May 23rd at ADANAC in Yarra Junction. This is an outdoor adventure camp. A parent  information session will be held on Thursday week -1st May in the Performing Arts Area at 2:30pm. 

Grade 5/6 Interschool Sports Gala Days 

Finally our grade 5/6 students begin their Summer Sports Gala days this Friday. Last term they were cancelled due to a double scheduling from another school. We thank all the parents who have volunteered to help assist with this program. These things are not possible without your Support.

John Hannah House

This week Grade 5/6L went to visit the hostel and share information about ANZAC Day and they explored the meaning of the ode together.

'They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.'

Modelled Reading

The modelled reading program began this week and we had an excellent turnout. thanks to parents who volunteered to help. If you wish to help with this program you do need a Working with Children. Please email: lwithers@sjvmulgrave.catholic.edu.au

NAPLAN

Our grade 3 and 5 will receive individual student reports that will be sent to schools from the start of Term 3, 2025.

Junior Sustainability Warriors

A Big THANK YOU to some of our Yr 1/2 students (some others also not pictured) who this week have chosen to pick up rubbish & papers laying around our school yard. WELL DONE !!!
