Clyde North Campus News

It’s hard to believe Week 5 is nearly here—and the great weather continues!
Each Tuesday in Week 2 during Period 2 is our dedicated pastoral period. Students wear their PE uniforms, and for Year 12s, it’s also Hoodie Day. But more importantly, this time is reserved for supporting and developing students' social-emotional skills. It’s a vital part of their learning journey.
This year marks the launch of our new evidence-based Pastoral Program, designed specifically for the needs of St Peter’s College students. A key element of the program is gathering feedback from both students and staff to ensure its relevance and effectiveness.
This week, Year 11 and 12 students took part in an engaging pastoral session delivered by external provider Proactivity. These sessions are part of our commitment to fostering student wellbeing and resilience in meaningful, active ways. Proactivity promotes health and wellbeing though physical activity with a focus on team building. Some activities our students were involved in included, boxercise, giant scrabble and giant inflatable ball sports. Even with such a large group of students they were all well engaged in the activities but what was most impressive were the contagious smiles spreading through the groups. I asked and received great feedback from students which included how we could improve this type of activity in the future. Well done to our House Leader team for organising this great event.
“It was different, fun. It's a nice idea and can be expanded further to include different activities in the future. Thanks for the activities.”
“Yesterday’s activity was very enjoyable, it felt very relieving to let loose and be active while collaborating with peers. I think this pastoral session should be an activity that is continued throughout the years because it was very fun, and it gives the senior levels a chance to get a break from all the academic pressure and stress.”
Mother’s Day Breakfast
The Mother’s Day Breakfast was a joyful morning filled with delicious food and heartfelt moments. Thank you to all students who brought their mum, grandmother, step-mum, or aunty—it meant so much. This year, sisters Natarsha and Nikeesha delivered a touching tribute on behalf of us all. Special thanks to Jeannette Valencia and her team for the amazing breakfast, and to Ms Emma Lloyd Smith for generously donating a beautiful hamper as a door prize for one lucky mother.
Good morning respected Principal, teachers, students and our loving mothers
Today, we are gathered here to celebrate one of the most beautiful and meaningful days of the year—Mother’s Day. This is a special occasion to honor and appreciate the most important women in our lives—our mother or grandmother or any motherly figures in your life
A mother is our first teacher, our best friend, and our biggest supporter. From the moment we are born, she takes care of us, teaches us right from wrong, and stands by us through every challenge. Her love is unconditional, her patience is endless, and her strength is inspiring.
On this day, we thank our mothers for their sacrifices, their kindness, and the love they give us every single day. No words are enough to express how grateful we are, but through this celebration, we try to show just a little of our appreciation. Let us all take a moment today to say thank you to our mums—for all the sleepless nights, for the warm hugs, for cheering us on, and for loving us no matter what.
To my mum, and to every mother who has stood strong beside a sick child—you are our angels.
You may not wear a cape, but your love is the greatest power in the world. Mum, thank you for being my light when everything feels dark. Thank you for your hugs, your prayers, and your love. You give me the courage to keep fighting. Mum this is especially for you, Saseth, Natarsha and I are so blessed to have a mum like you, and we want you know that we are forever grateful for you. Happy Mother’s Day to you.
I love you more than I could ever say. To all the wonderful mothers here and everywhere –
Happy Mother’s Day! You truly are the heart of our families and the light of our lives.
