5/6 C - Camp!

Camp Forest Edge Reflections

Grade 5 Students in 5/6C

Camp was one of the best times of my life, and one of my favourite activities was the raft building. I chose this because it was so funny—Taj kept falling off and had to swim the whole way! It was hilarious to watch. We were actually untying the raft first, but we lost because we forgot one rope and couldn’t see it.

Camp was the best thing I had ever experienced in my life. My favourite activities were disc golf and camp cooking, because I had never cooked damper on a stick before, and disc golf was like playing frisbee—but you had to be careful not to throw the disc too far. I loved staying in the cabins because it improved our friendship. Camp was the best!!!

Camp was one of the best times of my life. I enjoyed every second of being there. I loved all the activities, the food, and the cabins. One of my favourite activities was the flying fox—I got to see the beautiful view along the forest edge. The trees swayed and the wind was cool as I zoomed through the air. I chose this activity because it was so much fun, and I got to connect with more people and create many more amazing friendships along the way. BEST CAMP EVER!!!

Camp was the best—there were so many things to do there! My favourite activity was the flying fox because when we ran off the edge, I felt like I was a bird. I could see the beautiful view—it was amazing to be up in the sky. I saw the trees and the view below; it was the best! I looked down at the ground and realised how high up I was. When we got hooked up to the harness and stopped, they grabbed us, and we waited for our next turn.

Camp was amazing—it was an unforgettable time at Forest Edge. There were so many activities that involved teamwork, and we all had to work together. My favourite was raft building—it was the best! We had to split up into teams, build a raft, and then race. But to achieve that, we first had to communicate and use teamwork.

School camp at Forest Edge was a fun experience. Every activity was fun, especially the raft building. I liked the raft building because I enjoy building things and going in the water. Also, the food was better than I expected. Playing with friends was fun, and everything we did at camp was amazing. I personally loved the animals there.

I loved camp! Forest Edge camp was great, but something that really stuck out to me was the flying fox. There were rumours that it was the third longest in Melbourne! I went with my friend Ari, and before we got to go on the fox, we had to walk all the way up a giant hill to the wooden platform. The instructor talked into his walkie-talkie and even let us have a go! We then got clipped on and got ready to run off. “GO!” he shouted, and we ran off as fast as we could and were in the air. It was a long way, so we decided to play rock-paper-scissors. It went on for a while, but eventually, it ended. “That was so fun!”

2025 Forest Edge Camp was unforgettable! There were so many fun activities, and my favourite one was the flying fox. At first, I was really scared, but after trying it, I’m so glad I did because it was so much fun! The food was also delicious, and my favourite meal was the beef bolognese. I also enjoyed having hot chocolate and dessert every night. After all our activities, I loved going back to our cabin (Karla, Alyssa, Serena, Vivien) and talking about our days before heading to bed. Overall, 2025 Forest Edge Camp was AMAZING!

Camp... I don't even know where to start! There were so many positives about Forest Edge. The food was phenomenal, our cabins were great, and I met lots of new people. We had so many fun activities that created lasting memories. My favourite meal was the chicken schnitzel with a side of salad and bread. My last activity before we departed for school was the raft building. My team had so much fun building the raft, but then it was up to Taj and me to paddle fast enough to take first place. We ended up coming second, but it was so fun to be in the raft. We packed up, dried off, and went straight to the campfire for our liturgy.  CAMP WAS AMAZING!

Camp started at the place where we came together to talk about which activities we were doing. We also had our meals there. We did a lot of activities—I mean, a lot! Our group was excited for all of them. I really liked raft building; it felt like a survival activity. It was really fun, and I liked the way the water was whooshing around the raft, but it still floated.

Raft building was a day to remember. Our team was bombarded with boys, but only Eli and I ended up crashing onto the raft. The girls had gotten a big head start, and there was no chance we could catch up. Right? A quarter of our ship, "TITANIC 2.0," fell off, making it much harder to balance. We were heading straight for a tree, our sight filled with bark, but we finally made it out. We got our destroyed boat out of the lake and sprinted to pack up our ship, but sadly, it was too late. We were beaten.

Camp was a remarkable adventure filled with laughs and giggles. I had so much fun doing all the activities like raft building, crate climbing, the flying fox, bush walks, hut building, camp cooking, and 9 square in the air. I loved hanging out with my friends and having camp laughs. The cabins in the forest were the best, and the creek was amazing. Going to sleep with the sound of water in the background was incredible. It was the best experience, and I wish we could go again.

This camp was one of the most unforgettable experiences ever. We had so many challenges to face, and we got through all of them. Raft building required teamwork, rock climbing required bravery, and crate climbing required balance—traits we need in life. The raft building was one of the hardest activities in my opinion. We needed balance and teamwork to build it, and that was difficult. Forest Edge was the best, and I would love to experience all of those things one last time!

Camp this year was one of the most fun and unforgettable experiences I’ve ever had! It started off with a bang, and we went straight into activities. My first activity was a 1.2 km hike. I was at the back with Lorraine, helping her and encouraging her, telling her she could do it. After that, we had afternoon tea. I loved it and can't wait to go again one day!

Camp was the most exciting time ever! Forest Edge offered so many activities and experiences, like raft building, indoor rock climbing, crate climbing, bush cooking, hiking, and playing 9 square in the air. My favourite was bush cooking/camp cooking. Even though mine was raw, it was still a fantastic experience! My friends and I had the best time at Forest Edge, especially in the cabins. I was lucky enough to have all my friends in my cabin, which made me really happy. I absolutely loved Forest Edge and I wish we could go again!

Forest Edge camp was really cool, mainly because of how connected it felt to nature. Here are some of my favourite highlights. I liked being the bodyguard when people played cage soccer or gaga, especially on the first day. On the second day, it was funny watching the people in my group on the raft and how poorly we did. When my group reached the end, packing up was part of the race, so we rushed over there quickly. But when I tried grabbing one of the pieces from the raft, I slipped in the mud and fell into the dirty water! On the third day, the flying fox was definitely my favourite because of how fast, long, and fun it was, plus the amazing view.

Forest Edge camp was a really great time for me! It gave me an amazing adventure with tons of fun and creative activities, making this camp a fantastic experience. Some of the best activities were the flying fox, raft building, hiking, and camp cooking. I had a really fun time in my cabin because I had my friends with me, and I loved movie and trivia nights. I absolutely loved this camp and hope I’ll be able to go again!

Forest Edge Camp was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Every activity was awesome, and there were never-ending adventures. This camp gave us so many opportunities. My highlights were the raft building and the flying fox. The raft building was filled with laughter and excitement. We all had to work as a team to build a raft using pipes and ropes, and after that, the chosen people had to go in the water and test the raft. The second highlight was the flying fox. We had to walk a long way to get to the other side, but I would say it was worth it—the beautiful view and the feeling of being surrounded by nature felt like I was in heaven.

Camp—one of the best things that happens in a school year for the 5/6s. Arriving there, finding out our cabins, and saying goodbye—it was all a blast! Some activities that Forest Edge hosted were crate climbing, flying fox, hut building, hiking, camp cooking, rock climbing, archery, and so many more. They were all so much fun! Some of my personal favourites were the flying fox and crate climbing. Being able to glide through the air and stacking wobbly crates was definitely a highlight. Sharing meals at the dinner table and having a laugh made everything even better. Overall, Forest Edge Camp was more than just another regular camp—it truly holds a special place in people's hearts.

Crate climbing was so fun! Lucas and I were partners. Crate climbing is when one person stands on empty milk crates while the other person passes them to the climber. As you climb higher, the crates start to fall, which ends your turn.

The flying fox was so much fun! We got two turns. Aiden was my partner. The first group was Zara and Stephenie, then Olivia and Alyssa, followed by Lucas and Eli, then Karla and Lauren, and finally, me and Aiden. We had to walk for about 5 minutes to get to the top of the flying fox.
