On Thursday 8/5 our whole staff had a Religious Education professional development day. The title of the day was 'Making the Scriptures alive and active for our staff, students and families.' Father Elio Capra SDB, a lecturer from ACU and Melbourne Theological College came and spoke to our staff. He is very wise, inspiring and engaging speaker who made great connections to the scriptures and gave us practical and creative ways to bring scripture alive at Holy Spirit.
Happy Mother's day to all our Mum's and all those who mother, for last Sunday. We hope you all had the most wonderful day.
Year Level Masses are as follows:
Level Masses will be held in the Church
at 9:15 on Wednesdays.
28/5 - Year 2 Level Mass
11/6 - Year 1 Level Mass
18/6 - Prep Level Mass
Parents are most welcome to stay after mass and have a cuppa in the Parish House.
On Wednesday the Confirmation Candidates from Year 6 and High Spirits attended a workshop as part of their Confirmation journey. Next week the candidates will practise their sacrament at St Patrick's Cathedral, East Melboune, followed by a Reflection, run by Mary Ryan, a long time parishioner at Holy Spirit, at the Cardinal Knox Centre. We are looking forward to the ceremony on Thursday evening at 7pm at the Cathedral.
Next week, a form will be sent on operoo for the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. (Eucharist) Some dates to consider for your child who is eligible to make their First Eucharist this year are as follows:
Saturday 9th August at 6:00pm
Sunday 10th August at 9:00am and 5:00pm
Saturday 16th August at 6:00pm
On Saturday the 31st of May at 6pm, Holy Spirit Parish invites you all to join us for a mass celebration in the church. This is a lovely time to gather together and have some supper after. Pizza is on the menu and a google form will be sent to you soon for any dietary needs. Cody graduated from Aquinas College in 2024 and will be one of the singers, as well as Kerry whom some of you may know. They have selected some lovely music to sing at the mass. We hope to see you there for this celebration.

The big news of course, is the election of our new Pope, Pope Leo XIV. We pray that he may be a true shepherd who can build bridges, embrace the plight of the poor, bring peace and help wipe away the tears of all who suffer. We hope that God will guide and protect him as he governs and sanctifies those in his care.
Please keep our Confirmation Candidates in your prayers as they prepare to be confirmed at St Patrick’s Cathedral next Thursday 22nd May at 7.00 pm by Bishop Thinh Nguyen. May the gifts of the Holy Spirit be bestowed upon them all and may they find peace, joy and love in their lives. The Bishop met the children on Tuesday in our Chapel which was a wonderful experience for them in the lead up to their Confirmation.
Blessings from the Parish House Staff.
