Principal's Report

Report from our Principal: Duncan Arendse

Dear Parents, Guardians and Father Arsenio,

We hope you had a really special day last Sunday celebrating Mother’s Day.

We are now well into Term 2, and it’s been wonderful to see our students so engaged in their learning across all year levels. Classrooms are buzzing with curiosity, creativity, and collaborative thinking as students continue to grow in confidence and capability.

A huge congratulations and good luck to our wonderful Grade 6 students who will be celebrating their Confirmation – we are so proud of you and wish you all the very best on your journey ahead. Please keep these students in your thoughts and prayers over the next fortnight. They will be celebrating their Sacrament this Thursday at St Patrick’s Cathedral.

We’re also very excited to be welcoming Duncan back from his holiday this week – we, along with the students, have missed him (especially on lollipop duty!) and can’t wait to hear all about his adventures.

Prep interviews and school tours are now underway, and we are incredibly proud of our students and staff who represent our beautiful school so wonderfully during these times. A big thank you to our School Leaders and parent representatives who have supported this process. We are proud to showcase the vibrant learning community we have here at Holy Spirit.

A friendly reminder to please supervise your children closely if they are playing on the oval after school. While we love seeing students enjoying the outdoor space, staff are not on duty at this time, and it’s important that children are safe, respectful of others, and using equipment appropriately. Your supervision helps ensure everyone’s wellbeing and keeps the space safe for all.

To help ensure a smooth and safe afternoon pickup:

  • When entering the school, please leave room for staff vehicles to enter and exit the car park, particularly before the basketball court area opens. Access is required up until the afternoon bell.
  • If sport is taking place on the courts (especially on Friday afternoons this term), the basketball court will remain closed until closer to the bell. During this time, we kindly ask that you use the car park at the shops across the road.
  • For the safety of our students, please do not drive onto the basketball court area if children are present.

We are also looking ahead to some exciting events on the calendar, including Confirmation, Fire Truck visits, excursions, and District Cross Country – all of which we know our students look forward to with great enthusiasm.

Thank you to our dedicated staff and supportive families for everything you do to help our students thrive – your partnership truly makes a difference.

Wishing you all a fantastic fortnight ahead!

Warm regards,

Rachel & Kayla
