General Information

Clancy Community Award

Ruby is a caring and compassionate advocate for the environment and animals in particular. Once Ruby identified that Koalas were in need of support following the bushfires, she took action. Ruby quietly engaged in raising funds to support a Koala rescue organisation and surpassed her fundraising goal. Ruby is a determined, kind, considerate student who thinks and feels deeply for animals. With the support of family, Ruby has contributed to sustainability projects at school and was an active contributor to making items that were sold at our fundraising stall this time last year, at what we believe is her favourite store, Bunnings.

Ruby is a positive member and contributor to our school and broader community.

Variety Excursion O2 and G4

The Ladies of Variety recently hosted their annual, end of year Christmas Party. For some of our students, it was their first excursion. This was very exciting for our class. The event had a live band, police cars, fire trucks and amazing food. We also had support from the year 10 students' from Mercedes College. The Ladies of Variety have been extremely generous over the year with excursions, incursions, and supporting with our bus for swimming.

Uniform policy - hats required for Term 4

Our school requires all students to wear their school uniform.

The uniform policy was endorsed by the Governing Council following consultation with students, parents and staff.

The Governing Council have the responsibility to develop policy on dress codes within their school. Our community believes the wearing of our school uniform:

  • promotes pride in our school
  • enhances our public image
  • ensures student safety
  • reduces peer group pressures
  • encourages appropriate clothing for school activities and excursions
  • promotes a sense of equality and equal opportunity that will in turn promote self esteem

Footwear

Safe sensible footwear is required at all times. Sandals with secure straps are acceptable during hot weather.

Please note:

All articles of clothing and footwear worn by students must conform to our school policies. They must ensure personal safety and health requirements and enable students to participate successfully in all school activities.

If unacceptable items of clothing are worn (e.g. singlets, tank tops, thongs, ugg boots) students will be counselled. Where appropriate, parents will also be contacted to seek support for our school dress code.

Hats

In accordance with the school “Sun Smart” policy, all students must wear a school hat during Term 1 and Term 4.

Legionnaire or wide brim hats provide the best protection from the sun. Only hats purchased from the school are acceptable as they meet the Cancer Council recommendations and the safety regulations of the Education Department.
