This year, the College has engaged the services of Writer’s Toolbox to enhance students’ writing skills. An educational writing program powered by AI, Writer’s Toolbox is designed to help students master writing—without doing the work for them. The program gives real-time, individualised feedback on every topic, for every student, at their most teachable moments. Unlike other grammar checkers, editing programs and AI interfaces, the program does not fix errors, check content or craft writing for students, rather it provides learning modules to teach them how to write and provides feedback that is easy to understand and action. The program will be available to Year 7 and 8 students and teachers in Humanities and Social Sciences, Science and English.
Year 7s were inducted during their camp week, while it was rolled out to Year 8s this week. There was definitely a buzz around the room as the boys explored the features and activities in the program. Our teachers have been just as busy attending professional development sessions in our January start-up week and during today's student-free Day. By all accounts, teachers and students are excited to see what we can achieve.
