Friends of the Arts

Friends of the Arts is a small group of parents who assist staff at various events such as Saints Unplugged or the College musical. The group also assists with fundraising and grant writing for the Music/Arts departments. If you are interested in helping out, please email me at cspannenbu@cns.catholic.edu.au to join the group. Our first meeting of the year will occur soon.

Musical

The first full run through of act one of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory took place recently. The musical is taking shape already with some wonderful sets loaned to us from Turning Pointe Dance Studio. The students are rehearsing every Monday and Wednesday after school as well as Sunday afternoons. We ask parents and carers to have a look at the rehearsal schedule to assist cast members to be organised. Please make sure you son contacts one of the staff members involved if they are confused or unable to attend rehearsals.

There are still some outstanding contracts. Please have those returned to us ASAP. A reminder that the musical camp is compulsory on April 13 and 14 and a vital part of the lead up to production week.

The show is going to be fantastic and a lot of fun. Performances are at CPAC on May 2-4. Tickets will go on sale soon. 

Guitar Ensemble

Our new Guitar Ensemble is off to a great start this year. Ms Tullara Connors has been directing this group of young men and they’re making some great music. If your son is interested in joining the group, please email me at cspannenbu@cns.catholic.edu.au. Rehearsals are every Tuesday morning at 7:20am in L101.

2024

Our program is busy and vibrant with many opportunities for performances. We entertain assemblies, perform in productions and music nights as well as provide liturgical music for the college. There are plenty of activities to participate in.

Information for events and performances is on the Arts Department facebook page. There will be information in the newsletter and parent slips sent out. Below is a calendar of events planned so far. This will be added to during the year, so please reread it each edition to check that you are abreast of all that his happening.
