ELC Messy Mud Day

This year has flown by so fast. The P&F have been busy this year funding a variety of projects, our very last ones being decided upon just this Monday night during our Zoom meeting.

From the Welcome Back Barbeque to murals, Wollaston Care to Lego League, new Secondary lockers to the fit-out of the new Pre-Kindergarten building, the Committee strives to make the levy stretch and enrich each year from PK to Year 12 and beyond.

This week, the P&F formally recognised two long standing members of the JWACS community who have had an immense and positive impact on the welfare of families in the school community. We thank Mrs Shand and Miss Bailey for all the smiles, dedication, expertise and love they have shared. They will be sorely missed.

We would also like to acknowledge the amazing Carol Lander who recently received a well deserved award for her long standing devotion to JWACS. A devotion she hopes to continue for many years to come.

The P&F have tentative dates next year for our annual Welcome Back Barbeque (Wednesday 28 February) and AGM (Wednesday 6 March). The Barbeque is a free event for all families hosted by the P&F. Please watch out for the Trybooking link and information at the start of the new year to book your spot. We cater for gluten free and vegetarian options. It’s a lovely event and one the Committee looks forward to every year. It is a special time for all K-12 families to come together and celebrate what a special community we are. We hope to see you there!

The AGM is a fantastic time to meet your Committee, see what they’ve done in the previous year and hear from important leaders within the School.  Principal Anne Ford and Head of Primary Tracey Rogers, as well as Business Manager Derek Heatherly all present their annual reports and answer questions from the floor. We then swear in our new committee for the new year. We are always looking for new, enthusiastic members. Maybe this could be you?

As I will be retiring at the next AGM, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has played a part in the wonderful years I have spent as P&F President. I will miss meeting new families and having a dance with the kids at the discos. The JWACS community is unlike any other.

Best wishes to all for a blessed Christmas and a well deserved break for the holidays. Take care.
