Nearly Halfway through the last term of 2023, we can say that it’s a quiet term as not much has happened with sporting events happening here and there. Back in the first week, we had our very own Israel Moeroa, Nane Moeroa, Danny Truong and Vaine Tekopua compete in the Regionals Athletics Event versing other competitors across the region.

We had Israel and Vaine put up a hard fight in their discuss events just missing out on top place but still receiving a medal. We then had Nane and Danny smash the competition, coming in first in their respective discuss events, which puts them on through to State! We are very proud of all students competing and representing Westall at a regional level.

State Athletics

Our Next Event was indeed State Athletics, where Danny and Nane competed and discuss events. Reaching this stage alone is a huge accomplishment! Nane came 7th in discuss

and Danny came 3rd in shotput. Both students put up a tough fight and came home with great results.

We have our Year 7s and Year 8s currently participating in House sport competition where students are participating in various games to see who house has the strongest team. This will be followed up by a 3-week block of Fitness and yoga run by the Kingston Youth Council at the end of the term.

We also have our Year 8 girls making an appearance at regionals for table tennis. Wishing these students, the best of luck with their upcoming matched.

Looking ahead we have 3 teams entered into the Volleyball Victoria Junior Open. These students will be going up against schools from all around Victoria in a head-to-head competition running in the last week in November. These students are training hard, practising every day in the sports centre!
