Learning in Visual Arts

Junior Visual Arts is sharing the learning taking place in their class…

This term the students in Years Prep, One and Two have been modelling with clay in Visual Arts.

First, we explored shape and texture with Clay Dough and are now busy creating something with Earthenware clay.  These special pieces will be fired in the kiln shortly.

The Preps are modelling a Tooth Fairy cup, the Year Ones a funny face and the Year Two students are creating a textured owl.  Many of these will feature in our Art Show at the upcoming Springfest in November.  Stay tuned for more information soon!

In the lead-up to Father’s Day, the Prep students modelled portraits of their dads (or another significant male) using plasticine.

First, they chatted with a partner about his facial features before modelling his face onto a card.  Shown are just a few and I’m sure you’ll agree they look super cute!

Well done Preps!
