Year 7 Retreat Day

In Term 3 Week 10, the Year 7 students participated in a Faith Retreat Day, led by the 24/7 Youth Ministry at the Serpentine Jarrahdale Community Recreation Centre. The theme for the day was ‘Community in Christ.’  The students engaged in a variety of fun activities designed to help them reflect upon and draw attention to the foundation blocks provided by God in the gift of Family, our College, and the Church.

The students learnt how these different communities support them to become the very best people they can be. Stepping up from these blocks, the students developed a deeper appreciation of their responsibility to serve those around them in their communities with the love of Christ.

Thank you to the SJCRC for welcoming our students and allowing them to enjoy the wonderful facilities available. Thank you to the 24/7 Youth Ministry for their engaging and enjoyable experiences and to all the staff who attended for supporting our students in their faith journey.

Tough Questions for Catholics: How you can build faith and understanding

Religious faith often brings up as many questions as it answers. In the Catholic tradition, there are many practices, beliefs and conventions that are often questioned or simply misunderstood. What do we really believe about the Bible? How did we come to believe what we do about Mary the mother of God? If God is so good, why do bad things happen to good people? What is heaven and hell really about? This course will navigate through such questions in a manner that builds faith and understanding.
