PE - SEPEP Program

Year 9 students have been participating in the SEPEP program as part of their PS classes. Students take on the role of coach, umpire, equipment manager and scorer in their PE lessons. This develops students' leadership and organisational skills, and encourages focus on maximising participation in sports for a variety of different community members. PE staff have reported excellent engagement with the program, which has been great to see!

Year 9 Wellbeing Support

Our Year 9 students are very lucky to have access to on site wellbeing support each day, provided by the outstanding Cass Roberts. Students have been reminded this week that sessions with Cass MUST be accessed via pre-booked appointment. Cass is unable to see students attending the YLC office requesting an immediate session, as this impacts her time with other students. Students seeking a wellbeing appointment must send a DM to Cass, and she will contact them with an appointment time. Cass then collects students from class for their appointment.

Reporting Season!

We have reached that time in the semester when teachers begin delivering final assessments and finalising Semester 2 reports.  Attendance is particularly important at this time, and we encourage both parents and students to keep up their momentum, as every school day really does count! We also encourage students to check in with each of their teachers to ensure all Work Requirement and CAT tasks are up to date.

Year 9 Café Foods – Delicious Desserts Showcase

This week, our Year 9 Café Foods students proudly completed their design brief by creating a dessert suitable for sale in a café setting. Working independently in the Home Economics kitchen, students demonstrated impressive culinary skills as they carefully followed their chosen recipes, using a variety of equipment and techniques to produce beautifully presented and delectable desserts.

Throughout the process, students showcased creativity, problem-solving, and time management skills while applying food preparation and presentation techniques learned during the term. The results were outstanding, with a range of café-quality desserts that reflected both skill and imagination.

Congratulations to all students on their hard work and commitment — your delicious creations were truly worthy of being displayed in any café!
