Communication and Appointments
An important reminder to parents and guardians: if a student is required to miss part of the school day for an appointment, please let us know ahead of time so we can issue the student a blue pass. This will enable the student to leave class at the correct time and will also ensure that their attendance is marked correctly, as well as ensuring that we know that students are safe.
Attendance
Speaking of attendance, a big thank you to the many families who have diligently reported to us when their child is absent from school. We will be trying to resolve any unexplained absences over the next few weeks before the end of the year. A reminder, absences can be recorded by contacting the absence hotline - 53 817 200, via SEQTA engage or by direct messaging your child’s form group teacher.
Assessment and Reporting
As we near the end of the year, it’s important that all students keep focussed on their learning until the end of the year, we still have several weeks of valuable learning planned! Students are reminded to check in with their teachers about any unsubmitted assessment tasks.
Uniform
Should your child be out of regular school uniform, please notify the year 7 office by note or phone call, allowing us to issue students with an out of uniform pass.
Hats
Please continue to remind students to bring and wear their hats at school during recess and lunch. If a yard duty teacher notices any students not wearing a hat or even carrying their hat, they will have their names recorded and follow up will occur. Students not wearing a hat will be asked to go to the closest shaded area. If any students need to purchase a hat, you can purchase one from admin.
Basketball Academy
Year 7 Basketball Academy students this term has had a focus on decision making. They have been going through offensive and defensive scenarios in single sided games, whilst deciding when is the correct time to attack, pass or shoot under pressure.
All students involved have worked hard on dribbling, passing, defensive and shooting skills over the course of the year. Our basketball students are so lucky and grateful for the use of the Horsham Basketball Stadium in their classes.

Class Spotlight
In Home Economics this week 7F students were learning how to prepare, stew and apply sustainable strategies when making apple crumble.
