Year 2 - Newsletter

Dear Parents,
Term 4 is well and truly underway. We have seamlessly moved back into our routines and have been working hard in class and enjoying the warmer weather out in the yard.
What are we up to in the classroom?
Our Term 4 Inquiry unit: Stepping into the Digital World, has been a huge hit. Students have demonstrated awareness around online safety and responsible use of technology, and have been developing their skills in this arena. In English, our Persuasive Writing unit has had us looking at ‘How to Sneak a Monster into School’. We have explored the structure and language used in persuasive pieces, and have created some very cute monsters too! In Maths we have been learning all things fractions! It has been wonderful to explore this unit in a variety of ways; from arrays, to shapes, worded problems and more.

Homework
We started our Homework presentations last week. It has been so fantastic to see the delight and excitement the students are bringing with these presentations, particularly as they are about things they are very passionate about.
Reminders
Continue to have students complete home reading and return their readers each day.
Mathletics tasks are set and available for your child to complete at home if you choose.
Hats - Term 4 is a Sunsmart term
All students require a wide brimmed school hat as per Sunsmart guidelines. Students will be required to stay in the shade if they do not have a hat.
Kind regards,
The Year 2 Team
