Literacy 

In Literacy, we have been learning about poetry. Poetry is all about expressing our feelings about a topic. We have written poems about our family, school and things we like. Through this, we have been learning about our senses and trying to be very precise with our word choice. The students have created some really awesome poems! 

We have been practising our reading and developing our fluency by reading our fluency texts or our decodables. It has been great listening to students reading whole words and reading at a great pace, slowing down when they come across an unfamiliar word. We are so proud of the progress students are making!

Numeracy 

In Maths, we have been learning about different ways to represent numbers. Students have been exploring bundles and being able to make numbers using the bundles and vice versa. We have also continued looking at different strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems. 

Wellbeing 

We have been learning about sharing and turn-taking. Students have been participating in group activities that rely on each other to complete a task. So far, students have been making animals to be a part of a zoo, finding items and placing them on a treasure map, creating pictures as a team and creating different parts of a meal and putting them all together to make a yummy dinner. Students have been practising being patient and waiting for their turn. We have been having lots of fun completing these activities.
