Italian Exchange

Last month, me and 4 other year 10 girls were lucky enough to participate in an exchange to Rome for a month. It was an amazing experience, and something we’ll never forget.
In Rome, we were shown around by our host families, taken on holidays and attended school. The school we went to was a Classical school, so they taught Latin, Ancient Greek, philosophy, and history just to name a few subjects. It was interesting to see how different the schools were compared to here, as it was all inside and the students stay in the same room all day, only the teachers change.
We got to see so much history and look at structures that were built thousands of years ago. It was so surreal to casually head into the centre of Rome and see the Colosseum and countless other monuments.
Of course the food was a highlight, and we were lucky enough to try many delicious Italian foods, lots of pizza, pasta, and gelato of course, but also popular roman foods such as supplì and maritozzi.
We met so many kind people who we will miss, and we are so excited to host our host sisters in February.
Also a special thank you to Ms Cappelli and Ms Hill for making the trip possible!
