Yr 8 Regional Table Tennis
On Wednesday 22nd October our team travelled to Coburg Table Tennis Stadium. With eight schools playing we had convincing wins over Hume Central College (6-0), International Academy (4-2) and Eltham High (5-1). This led to us playing Sirius College in the final. Our number one player Oscar Sharp was the player of the day winning his final singles and doubles matches. Our number two player Oscar Gaymer lost a tight final singles match but won in his doubles match. Our other two players (Oliver Harvie and Adi Crammond) despite their talented play unfortunately lost their matches. Despite losing 4-2 it was a close, exciting final. A special mention to Year 10 students Asher Bartley and Antony Joseph who coached our team and spent the day scoring and advising our students. With the day over our students continued playing in high spirits on their own.

Yr 8 Regional Hockey
The year 8 Girls Hockey Team had a great day at the Regional Competition on October 22. With 4 matches for the day our team dominated each game they played being strong in both attack and defence. Playing against Viewbank, Mernda Central, Hume AG and Princes Hill winning all four matches. The team are now very keen to play in the State Finals at the end of this week. We wish the girls well. Thank you to our wonderful student coaches Ruby Newnham and Maddie Courtney.
Yr 8 Regional Basketball
Last week, The Year 8 basketball team went to Mill Park stadium to compete in the regional basketball competition. We faced two opponents, Coburg High and Diamond Valley high. We beat Coburg High and unfortunately lost to Diamond Valley, so we will not be going through to state. Congrats to all the boys for making it this far and putting in their best, and to all the other girls and boys teams that didn’t make it to regionals. It was a really fun event, and we hope to be able to represent the school again next year.

Yr 7 Girls Regional Hockey
in the region year 7 girls and boys/mixed competition. The girls played 3 games, playing amazing and giving it their all, sadly not coming away with a win. It was a hot day, but they still tried their hardest and ended up getting a lot of good tackles, passes, and runs up the field. Good effort to them all and thank you to our last-minute coaches, Millie and Darani.
Yr 7 Boys / Mixed Basketball
On October 30 the Yr 7 Boys / Mixed basketball team travelled to Mill Park to compete in the Regional Competition. The team had 2 losses and 1 win for the day. Despite the tough matches the team all worked well together and showed great sportsmanship. They should be proud of their achievement. A big thank to our student coaches Wim Lobb, Neon Hodges and Uta Tanaka
Sports Awards Breakfast
On November 7 we held our annual Sports Breakfast. It was a great morning celebrating the our Sporting Achievements of 2025.
The morning is predominantly run by our amazing sports captains who did a fantastic job.
We were lucky to have Commonwealth Gold Medalist Tinka Easton as guest speaker. Tinka’s speech was inspiring as she spoke about the highs and lows of being an athlete through injury and disappointed. She knew she had to pick herself up and work harder to achieve her goal.
Tinka also highlighted the importance of studying hard for life after sport. She worked hard and trained hard, studying whilst her parents drove her 1 hour away to her training sessions. It was a great message for our students.
