Grampians National Park Camp

The VCE Outdoor Ed class recently went on a three day camp to the Grampians National Park, where we stayed at Stapylton campground. We got to experience rock climbing and various different hikes in the area, including multiple waterfalls. Students got to see Indigenous rock paintings and European settlements to contrast the differences.

Merri River Canoeing

Students in VCE Outdoor Ed have been Canoeing during our class time. Exploring the Merri River using the Rakali Canoes. Students learned how to perform various paddle strokes, how to rescue someone who has fallen out of their Canoe and the effect of wind and tide on an activity like Canoeing. Thank you to Rakali for letting us borrow their Canoes. We even got to tow them on the King's Minibus, how good would it be to have our own set!

Sharing in games of bingo, dominoes, cards and puzzles. The group had so much fun and the residents could not have been happier to spend their time with King's College.

Year 8 French

This week, our Year 8 French students have been exploring current news stories from France. They’ve discovered what’s being reported on, comparing similarities and differences between French and Australian media. Students chose a news story that interested them, researched the details, and presented their findings to the class. It’s been a great way to build language skills while learning more about life and current events in France!

Year 7 Food Tech

This week our Year 7 students whipped up some delicious loaded potatoes! The room was filled with the mouth-watering aroma of butter, thyme, and sizzling bacon. Micklayla’s perfectly crispy bacon was definitely the star of the show, her classmates couldn’t stop sneaking a taste! A simple recipe with a big flavour payoff - yum!
