Teaching and Learning Update

End of Year Assessment Program
As we approach the end of the school year, teachers are beginning the End of Year Assessment Program. This important process helps us celebrate the growth and progress every student has made throughout 2025.
Over the coming weeks, students will be completing a range of assessments, including:
PAT Reading and PAT Maths
Essential Assessment
Sparkle Benchmark Reading Benchmark
Fountas and Pinnell Reading Benchmark
DIBELS (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills)
These assessments provide valuable information about each student’s learning journey across the year. They help teachers to identify the progress students have made, highlight areas for future focus, and support the determination of progression points for end-of-year reports.
Friday 14th November will be a Curriculum Day for assessment and reporting. Students will not attend school on this day. Teachers will be working collaboratively to review and moderate student assessment data.
While assessments form just one part of the overall picture, they are a useful tool in ensuring that each child’s learning achievements and next steps are clearly understood and celebrated.
