School Captain: Evie

Student Leader Spotlight: Evie
Evie —a passionate, approachable, and dedicated Year 12 student whose leadership is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and a genuine drive to uplift her school community.
From Kellyville Public School to HSC Purpose
Evie began her academic journey at Kellyville Public School and is now immersed in a diverse HSC program that includes English Advanced, Mathematics Standard, Biology, Modern History, Health and Movement Science, and Legal Studies.
Leading through Voice and Visibility
At Kellyville High, Evie has made her mark through involvement in Hills Relay for Life, School Spectacular, Cross Country, SRC, and Extra Transitioning programs. Her leadership journey began in Year 8 with the SRC and continued through Peer Mentoring in Years 9 and 10, roles she pursued to authentically represent student voice and foster a positive school environment.
Collaboration over Credit
Evie’s proudest achievement as a student leader is her ability to work with diverse leadership teams to bring initiatives to life for the school community. “It’s not about doing it alone—it’s about coming together to make something meaningful happen,” she reflects.
Prioritising with Purpose
Balancing academics, leadership, and personal commitments is a challenge Evie meets with organisation and clarity. “I prioritise tasks based on deadlines and importance, and I set aside specific time for each responsibility to avoid last-minute stress,” she shares.
Leadership through Listening
Evie hopes her peers see that leadership isn’t about being the loudest—it’s about listening, including others, and making a genuine effort to improve the school community. She wants every student to feel that their ideas matter and that they have the power to make a difference.
A Future Built on Connection
Her experiences as a student leader have shaped her career aspirations, revealing a passion for working with people and making a meaningful impact. Evie now feels confident pursuing roles that involve teamwork, communication, and community engagement.
From Shy to Shine
A fun and surprising fact? Evie was once too shy to start Kindergarten early—proof that leadership can grow from quiet beginnings. Today, she’s a confident and inspiring presence in her school.
Advice for Aspiring Leaders
Evie’s advice to younger students is simple but powerful: “Leadership is about effort, reliability, and how you treat people. It can come from anyone who cares enough to take action and support others. Stay consistent, listen, and be ready to step up when needed.”
A Legacy of Connection
When she graduates, Evie hopes to leave behind a legacy of inclusivity and year-round collaboration. “I want Kellyville to be a community that stays connected—not just during Harmony Day or the Talent Quest, but every day.”
Looking Ahead
After Year 12, Evie plans to continue working hard in her current job and pursue further study in a field related to Physiology or Sports Science. Her journey is driven by a love for people, a commitment to growth, and a belief in the power of small actions to create lasting change.
