Allied Health Update

Hamlyn Views School Music Video
We would like to congratulate our music therapist Bingyao and all of our students on the release of our Hamlyn Views School music video "I Just Wanna Be Me". This can be found on our Hamlyn Views Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1Br5FVhQtQ/
This project was supported by the Creative Learning Partnerships grant, which allowed community artists from Music Space to come to our school and deliver a special songwriting and filming program this year. The students and staff also went to a professional recording studio and had a filming day at Hamlyn Views School.
Since Term 2, students have been working with community musicians Lachie, Tiff and Mel to write a song about their school life, friendships, and dreams for the future. With the help of Don’t Poke the Bear studio and filmmaker Benj, we turned their words and melodies into this wonderful video.
PASS Award Nomination
We are thrilled to announce that Bingyao was shortlisted for the Outstanding Allied Health Staff Award at the 2025 PASS Awards. This prestigious nomination is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and exceptional contribution to the health and wellbeing of our school community.
Bingyao consistently goes above and beyond in her role, providing invaluable support to both students and staff. Her expertise, compassion, and commitment make a significant difference in the lives of those she works with every day.
We are incredibly proud of Bingyao for this well-deserved recognition!
AAC Awareness Month
October marked a special celebration of AAC Awareness Month at Hamlyn Views School, where we celebrated the communication journeys of our AAC users. Throughout the month, we shared stories and photos from our students, allowing the whole school community to better understand the importance of AAC.
We introduced AAC Activity Kits to promote hands-on learning and interaction, and an Internal School Poster was updated weekly with tips and insights to support AAC users in the classroom. Our Word of the Week focused on terms related to communication, encouraging learning and discussion among students and staff.
Thank you to everyone who participated in making this month a success. We look forward to continuing to support our students’ communication journeys throughout the year!
