F-2 News

Foundation/1
We've had a fantastic return to school, with all the children looking refreshed and ready for learning.
Writing:
Part of our writing program has involved students developing their writing stamina to create longer and more interesting texts. Students in F/1A have enjoyed reciting and transcriping lines from their favourite rhymes and poems.
Hockey Clinic:
Students in F-2 participated in their first of 4 hockey clinics on Thursday. Ian taught the children some basic skills of using the equipment safely and how to dribble and control the ball. We had lots of fun playing a game of 'What's the Time Mr/Mrs Hockey' to practise the skills we had just learnt. Looks like we might have some budding hockey players come through in the future.
Kindergarten to School Transition Program
The transition program for our 2025 Foundation students commenced this week. The program has been developed to allow children to experience school routines and to begin to make connections to ensure a smooth transition into their first year of school. During the first session, the children completed counting and reading activities in the Foundation classroom and visited the Art Room to see what this spaces looks like and to meet Mrs Schiller. We also had a great time playing in the Environmental Garden, on the equipment in the Fitness Hub and finished off the session at the Undercover Playground.
Grade 2
Welcome back to the last term of the year! It has been great to see so many smiling faces this week. We have a fantastic term ahead.
Inquiry:
This term our Inquiry focus is on robots and programming. Students will also consider the purpose of different objects that we use in our daily lives and how these objects have been designed and built. This week students had the challenge of creating something they could eat and invent something new. They also had a go at decoding some secret messages using the alphabet and numbers.
Have a great weekend!
