We would like to remind you that ALL students are required to wear a broad-brimmed hat when outdoors from the 1st September, when UV levels are typically higher. Please ensure your child brings a hat to school every day to protect them from the sun's harmful rays.Â

đ Phonemic awareness: reading and phonics
Students will complete two UFLI sessions this week (4 lessons and an assessment).

Grade One Students will be learning about r-controlled vowels, with a focus or, ar and or.Â
Students will read decodable words, phrases and texts. They will learn the following heart words: pretty and nothing

đ Literature: reading responses and writingÂ
The mentor text is an Information Text about Space. Â Students will use this text to form the basis of their literary responses such as learning new vocabulary in the text but begin to understand the purpose of an information text and the features I expect to see in these books.

Students will continue to look at Time, continuing their investigations into calendars, sequencing daily events and working out how long events take.

đ CBL - Curiosity
Our Term Four Big Idea is Curiosity. Our learning will have a science base to develop students curiosity of their world. Students will be working on the first question guiding our learning 'What is curiosity?"

Students will also be busy working on completing our 'Respect' mural which we began last term. We are looking forward to sharing this with our families when we are finished!
