Bastille Day Celebrations at the College

This week, we held our own St Pius X celebration of Bastille Day - France’s national holiday that marks liberty, unity and camaraderie. It was a chance to appreciate not only the history behind the day but also the richness of French culture - from its language and food to its music and values.

Our French students greeted arriving students and staff with stick-on moustaches and a cheerful 'bonjour', accompanied by the lively sounds of French accordion music from Monsieur Maio. We were especially delighted that our French exchange student, Paul Royer, from Versailles, was able to join in all the festivities. Together, the students presented a wonderful Bastille Day Assembly, speaking in both French and English to share the history and significance of the day. Truly, une journée joyeuse for all.

Year 9 Exploring Nature Exhibition

Step into a world where creativity meets the natural world in an exhibition celebrating the artistic talents of our Year 9 Visual Arts students. Through a rich exploration of nature which included a day trip to Harold Reid Reserve, students drew inspiration from the beauty and complexity of natural forms as well as case studies of renowned artists. From delicate sketches to bold mixed-media pieces, the artworks reflect their personal connections with the natural world.

Lights, Camera, Pius! Film Festival

Calling all young filmmakers!

The annual Lights Camera Pius! Film Festival is not far away, time to get the phone camera out (did you know that 28 days later was shot on an iPhone?) and your creativity into action.

Make a short film, any genre.

It must be PG rated and no longer than 3 minutes,  for your chance to see your film up on the Hoyts big screen. There are prizes for different age groups and a lot of fun to be had.
