Year 7 Picture Books - People’s Choice Awards

During Term 1, our talented Year 7 English students embarked on a journey of writing and illustrating their very own picture books. The task involved creating a picture book that would appeal to a primary school audience, which could be about a significant or fun moment in their lives. Students used the skills and techniques discussed in class to produce some outstanding works, which were later displayed in the library for the whole school to read and admire.

The ‘People’s Choice Awards’ gave students and staff the opportunity to vote for their favourite picture book on display, by taking into consideration the narrative structure, artistic illustrations and creative storyline.

I was proud to announce the award winners at the end of Term 2 in front of all Year 7 students and their incredible teachers.
