Snapshots from the week

Hospitality is cooking at Balmoral State High School!

Our Year 11 Hospitality students are adding a sweet touch to Freaky Friday, The Musical! 🍰🎭

They’ll be serving up delicious Freaky Friday cupcakes!

When Hospitality meets F1 at BSHS, you know it’s going to be fast, fun, and full of flavour! 🏎️🍴

Our students have been showcasing Aussie cuisine to our visiting Japanese Tour Groups — a delicious cultural exchange served at top speed.

Our 12HPJ class has been busy preparing for their IA4 event this Friday in the International Room.

The Hospitality kitchen was buzzing today with final touches and incredible attention to detail — we can’t wait to see it all come together!

Hunger For Reading

Our Vortext Book Club members enjoyed their once-a-term free lunch with our brilliant supporter Di Farmer MP, sharing what they're reading and how much they're enjoying the social atmosphere at our fortnightly catch-ups. Thank you, Di! Well done, students!

Queensland U20 Women's Handball Team

Congratulations to Micaela Irwin who recently played in the Queensland U20 Women’s team at the 2025 Junior National European Handball Competition on the Gold Coast.

Many of the players, including Micaela are now in training for selection in the U17 and U19 Australian Women's Handball Teams to compete at the International Handball Federation Oceanic's competition in the Cook Islands in October 2025.

Balmoral State High School have a close connection to this sport with Brisbane Handball Club running Australia’s largest youth program in the sports hall on Sunday afternoons.

Year 11 Camp

Last week, our Year 11 students embraced the great outdoors at Maroon Dam, taking part in an unforgettable camp experience filled with challenges, teamwork, and connection.

A huge thank you to our dedicated staff for supporting and guiding them every step of the way.
