Education Week

Last week, we celebrated Public Education Week with the theme - 'Ignite your potential.'

As a proud public school, we:

  • showcased student learning with a display of work from each class in the hall. All of our classes visited, along with many parents and carers.
  • had Year 6 students as Principal, Deputy Principal, Administration Staff and General Assistants for a day.
  • held a Walkathon for all students and their families. We are raising money for additional sports equipment. A draw for grade winners will be held on Monday, 18th August at 9.30am, under the K-2 COLA.
  • had open classrooms from 9.30-11am on Thursday morning, so that parents and carers could visit their child's classroom to see the great learning that happens each day at our school.
  • were grateful for the wonderful morning tea provided by our P&C, for the parents and carers who attended open classrooms.  We were entertained with a performance by our choir performing 'One Short Day', led by the talented Miss           El-Khoury.

We are proud to promote Public Education and provide an environment that ignites student potential! Please have a look at the 'Public Education Week' page in this newsletter for information and photos for each event.

Bullying No Way : National Week of Action

This week we are participating in 'Bullying No Way: National Week of Action.' The theme for 2025 is 'Be bold. Be kind. Speak up.' It takes courage to spark change.

Bullying is everyone's responsibility. It takes a community to be brave and address bullying behaviours, within and beyond the school gate.

Students can be bold, kind and take a stand to support others being bullied. As parents and teachers, we are there to support children and young people to learn how to behave in a positive way.

In our community and in our school, we want a place where everyone can belong, a place that celebrates everyone, and where bullying is never accepted.

This Bullying No Way Week, we're teaching stage appropriate lessons in the classroom about bullying and how to respond appropriately. We're asking students, families and our community to be bold and say something, be kind and support someone, and be proud to take a stand against bullying.

Coming Soon: Our New School Website

Our new school website is 'going live' on Thursday, 21 August.

Schools, across the state, will have new simplified websites to be able to provide information to families and promote and/or showcase the great things that happen in our schools. Our school is amongst the first 200 schools to go live.

The team of Mr Russo, Ms Lee, Miss Bejain, Miss Ta, Mr Pham and I have been working with the new format and design, with assistance from Engagement Officers from the Department of Education. We are excited to share this with our community and look forward to our 'go live' date.
