PE and Health

Welcome back to Term 3! We’re excited to continue building on the fantastic momentum from Term 2 in Health and Physical Education.

Last term, our Year 7 students made a splash as they took part in our Swimming Program, developing vital water safety and swimming skills. The program not only helped students build confidence in the water but also reinforced the importance of physical activity and personal growth through challenge.

Our Year 9 cohort had the unique opportunity to experience Wheelchair Basketball. This engaging and inclusive activity promoted empathy, resilience, and teamwork, while providing insight into the experiences of athletes with disabilities. Students embraced the challenge and showed great enthusiasm and sportsmanship throughout the sessions.

We welcomed many of our feeder primary schools to participate in a 'Taste of PE' at St. John’s. The primary students participated in a circuit of activities involving speed, coordination, teamwork and agility. A big thank you to some of our junior PE classes that assisted in running these sessions.

We have been fortunate to secure a small grant through Sporting Schools Victoria for Term 3. The grant aims to increase children's participation in sport, and to connect them with community sporting opportunities.

We look forward to another active and enriching term ahead as students continue to explore new sports, build skills, and develop lifelong healthy habits.
