A message from Troy

Welcome Back
Welcome back, everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic break. We have an exciting term ahead with many events planned. We've already kicked off with our Year 3/4 assembly and Favourite Colours Casual Day, with proceeds going to a local charity chosen by our SRC.
David Booth Visit
Next Monday, we're thrilled to welcome David Booth to Uraidla Primary School. He'll be working with all classes on a bush tucker session, encouraging students to think about our Indigenous Garden before its opening later this term. We'll share more in our next newsletter.
Staffing Updates
As mentioned in our last newsletter, there are some staffing changes for Term 3. Jess Rogers will be teaching in Stephen's Year 3/4 class on Fridays for the rest of the term. Alex Berry will be on leave, and we're fortunate to have Rachael King and Andrew Jenkins continue with the class.
New Students
We warmly welcome Zahra Cawthorn-Mitchell, Jessica Healey, Cameron Molina, Harper Smith, Eaven Spellacy, and James Walkem in Katie’s class, and Maggie Grosset-Smith and Marcela Molina in Emma’s class. We're delighted to have them join the Uraidla Primary School community.
Gratefulness Focus
This term, we're focusing on gratitude, recognising and appreciating the people and things around us. Gratitude is linked to better physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being. Students have been discussing thankfulness and considering questions like:
- Who could we thank?
- What different ways can we express gratitude?
- How can we have fun with gratitude?
- How can we show the Uraidla community we are grateful?
We aim to foster a positive mindset and appreciation within our community. It would be wonderful to hear families discussing gratitude at home.
Reminder about toys
In our last newsletter, we mentioned the increase in toys being brought to school. We appreciate those who have kept these at home. However, Beyblades remain popular and are still being brought into classes. We kindly ask that these items be kept at home to help our children stay focused and to prevent any damage or loss of items. Thank you for your cooperation.
Camp
Information regarding the Mylor Camp and excursion for Reception to Year 5 students will be coming out next week. Please keep an eye out on your emails for medical and dietary forms from Mylor Campsite.
