JAPANESE

In Term 3, the Japanese room is going to be a wonderful place to be! It was wonderful for Mrs Kelly and Mrs Mori to be greeted this week by excited students as we started our new topics for Term 3.
While each term we have a topic of focus in Japanese classes, the main purpose is getting our students to read, write and speak in Japanese as much as possible. We do this through activities such as songs, stories in Japanese and communicating in Japanese to students. Students are then given the opportunity to create their own written texts and share them orally in the class and on seesaw.
It is always exciting to see our young students writing in Japanese characters during our tasks!
In Term 3 we will also be holding our Japanese Day at Lucas on Thursday 28th August. There will be food, fun and lots of learning about Japan across the whole school on that day. Keep an eye out in the newsletter for further details about this special day.
We are looking for parent volunteers on this day to assist with handing out our lunch sushi. If you are free between 11.30-1.30 on this day and would like to lend a hand, please email Mrs Kelly on nicole.kelly@education.vic.gov.au or drop in and let her know. It would be very appreciated!
