Mr Ray Hickey
We are very much looking forward to celebrating our Grandparents and Special Friends on Friday 25th July.
Our celebration is held the day before the Catholic Church honours the feast day of St Anne and St Joachim, the parents of Mary and the grandparents of Jesus.
Following the afternoon tea and classroom activities, we will move to the Church for a prayer liturgy celebrating our Grandparents and Special Friends.
Thank you to the families who have shared photos to be included in the prayer liturgy. Photos can still be emailed to rhickey@smashburton.catholic.edu.au until 9.00 am Friday 25th July.
July is dedicated to 'discernment' or 'the ability to judge well in decision making'.
The late Pope Francis placed a strong emphasis on discernment in minor and major decisions.
Pope Leo XIV has asked the world to pray for discernment during the month of July.
We can all use discernment every day and we pray our world leaders practise using discernment to create a peaceful world for everyone.
Please try to find some quiet time in your busy day to pray Pope Leo's Prayer Intention for the month of July. Thank you.
For formation in discernment
Let us pray that we might again learn how to discern, to know how to choose paths of life, and reject everything that leads us away from Christ and the Gospel.
Amen
