Term 3 Class Updates

Foundation Update – August 2026

Throughout the year, our Foundation cohort has continued to grow as new families join our school community. To ensure we continue to provide high-quality teaching and learning experiences, maintain appropriate class sizes and support the learning and wellbeing needs of all students, we will be establishing an additional Foundation class, Foundation F.

We are delighted to welcome Miss Hailey Monssen as the Foundation F classroom teacher. Hailey will commence at Balambalam Primary School on Monday 24 August 2026. She brings experience working with students from Foundation to Year 6 and is passionate about inclusive, evidence-informed teaching and building positive relationships with students and families.

We understand that changing classes during the school year can be a significant experience for young children. To support a smooth transition, Hailey will spend her first few days getting to know Foundation students in small groups and working closely with our Foundation team. A comprehensive handover of student learning, wellbeing, routines and curriculum will also ensure continuity.

Students transitioning to Foundation F will have opportunities to spend time with Hailey before moving into their new class, while continuing to learn, play and connect with friends across the Foundation cohort. Class groupings have been carefully considered to support a balanced mix of students and take into account learning, wellbeing and friendship needs.

Our collaborative Foundation team will continue to work closely together to provide a consistent and connected learning experience for all students.
