Prep Update

During the next fortnight, Prep students are undertaking learning in the following areas:

Reading	Week 8: Persuasive books. We will be reading 'The day the Crayons Quit' and looking at the persuasive language used in this text. We will continue to engage in daily Phonics lessons, focusing on the long vowel /oa/ and the suffix /ng/.
Writing	Week 8: Persuasive writing- We are writing letters to the crayons persuading them to come home! Week 9: Poetry. We are exploring shape and rhyming poetry and creating our own poems.
Maths	Week 8 and 9: We are revising place value, exploring hundreds, tens and ones. We will be looking at how the place of the digit can alter the value of the number.
Inquiry	Week 8 and 9: We are finishing our toy construction and adding the final touches, including painting!
Social and Emotional	Week 8: We are focusing on Friendship through reading 'What the Ladybird Heard'. Week 9: We are focusing on Kindness through reading 'Words and your heart'.

2024 Preps are starting their Transition sessions.
At 9:00-10:00am on Wednesday the 22nd and 29th of November and on Wednesday the 6th of December, our current Preps will be completing their learning in the Year 3 classrooms. Please support us making this a smooth transition by having your child at school on time at 8:45am.
