Year 2 Update

During the next fortnight, students will be undertaking learning in the following areas:

Subject	Learning Focus
Reading	Week 8 & 9 - In week 8, students will be completing reading response activities to demonstrate their comprehension of the texts read. In week 9, students will have a focus on revising long and short vowels, collective nouns and comprehension strategies.
Writing	Week 8 & 9 - In week 8 students will be writing personal recounts around their projects, writing speeches and delivering them to their peers. In week 9 students will be exploring a range of poetry types and creating their own.
Maths	In week 8 - Students will be consolidating their knowledge of 3D shapes and mapping and location. In week 9 students will use problem solving skills to complete worded problems using the four processes.
Inquiry	In this unit students will prepare for the roles of the future such as innovation, creativity, reasoning, problem-solving and technical science skills such as questioning, observing, systematic experimentation and analysis and interpretation of data. Students will enjoy STEAM challenges, while building resilience, teamwork skills and strengthen their ability to explain.
SEL	Students, in presenting their project speeches, will practise resilience taking on board feedback from their peers. As well as practising listening skills showing respect to each other.
