Spring is here and the Ag program is flourishing!

Year 8 Agriculture Students harvested and delivered some of our home grown produce from the Veggie Garden to the School Café on Monday. The students have been learning about regenerative farming and harvested cauliflower, cabbage, carrots and lettuce for the School Café program feeding the Primary Students – we hope they enjoy the locally grown produce.

Year 9 student, Cena Marshall,  once again did herself and Seymour College proud as she showed Speckle Park steer, Yapunyah Tristan, at the Euroa Agricultural Show on Saturday 28th October, 2023. Cena demonstrated her skills in cattle handling, placing in Junior Handler, Junior Judging and took out Champion in the Commercial Steer Class with Yapunyah Tristan.

Young, Fictional Writer’s competition

During term 3, Seymour College ran a writing competition titled ‘Too Write’. It aimed to inspire and foster a love of reading and writing by providing students with the opportunity to share their great fictional ideas in a published competition. We had many incredible entries that demonstrated a love of storytelling and writing to engage an audience. After a rigorous selection process, the winners of the competition were Year 11 student, Nate Hackwill with his story titled ‘Reflection’ and Rose McQueen of Year 12 with her story titled ‘Cracking’. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of the entries we received and to acknowledge the immense talent we have in our school for creating ideas and building suspense with the audience. Well done everyone!
