SCHOOL OF POSSIBILITIES

YEAR 10 CAMP

Embarking on the Year 10 City Camp, our students were set to enjoy three days in the CBD exploring and connecting to higher education providers, navigating public transport while also getting a buzz out of a selection of eateries and attractions. Visiting a charity lifting up homeless people, participating in challenges and fun activities while accumulating a snapshot of tertiary life, the students had a jam-packed schedule of practical and memorable experiences. Below is an overview of the Year 10 City Camp itinerary in journal form.

Our fabulous Community Action Team have being doing an amazing job keeping up with Zooper Dooper sales!

Sales are into the hundreds already. We thank our school community for their support in raising valuable funds for The Vinnie's Christmas Appeal.

Sales will continue each Tuesday and Friday lunchtime for the duration of Term 4 from outside Community Lounge 2.

Year 10 Formal will take place on Friday, November 10 at St Mel's Parish Hall, Hamilton St. Families and students have been emailed important information regarding the organisation and expectations of this wonderful evening. We are very much looking forward to hosting this event! In preparation of the night, students will participate in a rehearsal on Thursday, November 9. Students will be required to be dropped off at St Mel's Parish Hall from 8:30am - 8:55am. Students will be bused back to school at 10:30am. Please look out for the permission form on PAM.

Exams

Year 10 and VCE Unit 2 exams take place from November 20-24. During this time VCE-VM classes continue but all Year 10 and Unit 2 VCE classes are cancelled. Students are only required to attend school for their exams. It is the responsibility of parents and carers to ensure students are supervised during the times they do not have exams and to ensure students travel safely to and from school. A study space will be set up for bus travellers who need to attend at times when they do not have exams.

Introductory Program

All students in Year 11 and 12 at St Anne's college in 2024 will participate in an Introductory Program from  November 27 to December 8. It is very important that all students in Year 11 and 12 in 2024 attend during this time to best set themselves up for success in the VCE program. Students not returning to St Anne's in 2024 may like to seek employment or attend programs at their future place of study. Year 11 students moving into an employment pathway in 2024 will be invited to attend a final school mass and leadership event during which students will be farewelled. More information will be communicated to these students and their families in the coming weeks.

Reminders about expectations

Pastoral Group attendance

Students should arrive at school in time to attend pastoral group each morning commencing at 8.55am.  This is an important part of the day and a time for prayer and reflection.  Teachers are able to follow-up with students and check in on how they are doing. Daily messages are delivered to students at this time.  It is vital that the school completes accurate records for attendance and the roll is marked during this session.

Uniform

It is expected that students wear the correct academic uniform to school on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  On Tuesday and Thursday students are permitted to wear their PE uniform, again this should be the full correct uniform including the St Anne’s tracksuit pants or shorts.  Year 10 students completing the sports coaching elective are permitted to wear their PE uniform on Thursday in addition to the above.

Use of air pods and mobile phones

Students are not permitted to use air pods or mobile phones while at school.  These items are to be left in students lockers during the school day.  Parents are asked not to ring their child’s mobile phone while they are at school or expect them to receive text messages.  If you need to get a message to your child during the school day, please contact the front office who will deliver the message on your behalf.

Your support on these matters is greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Sarah Baglin & Meredith Lia (SOP Leaders)

VCE Exams Navigator 2023

The VCE Exams Navigator 2023 should be read by all students presenting for 2023 VCE external assessments. It contains important information about what you need to know for VCE external assessments. A hard copy was distributed to all students present in class on Friday, July 21 by the subject teachers of: VCE Unit 3&4 Psychology, Business Management, and Vet Engineering Studies. If a student was away, please see the VCE Coordinator for a hard copy. We advise students to retain the VCE Exams Navigator 2023 until they obtain their VCE results.

If you have any queries, please contact Chris Segrave, VCE Co-ordinator.
