Phoenix Sports Academy Peer Teaching in PE

Over the past 4 weeks, the Year 9 Sports Academy student from Phoenix College have been visiting Delacombe Primary School and running sporting activities for students of 3A and 2A. Keeping in line with our PE program students from Grade 3 have been learning about striking and performing a range of activities connected to cricket and tee ball, whilst the students of Grade 2 have been preparing for their junior house sports. To conclude the program the Phoenix students organised a tabloid for both classes, which consisted of 7 stations, including a range of related activities. All students were then presented with a certificate of participation. During the past four weeks the bond and relationships formed between the two groups of students has been amazing and I know that many of our students will dearly miss their buddies now that the program has come to an end. Please find below some snapshots from the final day – the Tabloid

Congratulation to our Grade 5 and 6 students who represented our school at the T20 Blast Carnival at CE Brown Reserve last Thursday. Both our boys and girls teams played well with all students displaying great enthusiasm, team spirit and great sporting behaviour on the day. Our boys team narrowly missed a spot in the final. Well done.
