Follow the Dream End of Year of Presentation

The Polly Farmer Foundation would like to invite St Philip's College, Follow the Dream parents, guardians, familes, students and supporters to the Follow the Dream End of Year Awards Presentation on Wednesday, November 20th at the Minnamurra Hall at 3:30pm to 4:30pm.

Follow the Dream visits 2023 Bridgestone Solar Car Challenge

Port Augusta and St Philips college, Alice Springs Follow the Dream programs visited Darwin for the 2023 Bridgestone Solar Car Challenge. Students participated in a jammed packed week of fun learning activities with the Bridgestone Solar Car Challenge team as well as exploring 

Students visited some of the participating solar car teams visiting from across the world to find out more about the race, solar energy, how build and engineer the cars, and how they survive the above 50-degree heat while they are on the road! Students were fortunate enough to meet the CEO of Bridgestone Australia, Heath Barclay. Mr Barclay spoke about the new sustainability measures and the technology involved in producing tires for the solar car race and the impact these new tires will have on the future of tire manufacturing. 

Other highlights of the trip were Go Karting, Barra fishing, bowling and laser tag, visiting Litchfield national park, the NT Museum and art gallery, the Parap and Mindil markets and the waterfront aqua park. 

A big thank you to Bridgestone Australia especially Tony Gardner, Tom Worsley and Heath Barclay for providing this special opportunity for these fortunate Follow the Dream students to attend this event and for their ongoing sponsorship and support of the Polly Farmer Foundation.
