Physical Education and Sport

It has been a busy fortnight in sport for Rolling Hills!

Volleyball

On Tuesday the 31st of October, Rolling Hills had a team participate in the Eastern Metropolitan Region Volleyball finals for the second year running! Our 5/6 girls team played against St Luke’s, St James and Kew East. Whilst the rules were a lot stricter than the team were used to, they adapted really well and were competitive in each of their games. The girls finished with one win and two narrow losses. Well done, Abbi, Alexa, Amber, Ava, Chloe, Kerlise, Olivia and Sophie on your exemplary effort and sportsmanship. To make it to this level of competition in an unfamiliar sport is a fantastic achievement!

Thank you to Sue Williamson for assisting the girls and to the parents and families for their support on the day.

Hoop Time

Congratulations to our basketball superstars, the Rolling Hills Rams, who participated in Regional Hoop Time on Friday the 10th of November. The team played six pool games, winning their first five and narrowly losing the sixth game by one point. They went onto win the semi final and played Tintern in the grand final. After a hard-fought game, and a great display of skill and teamwork, they lost by just two points. Congratulations Blake, Chloe, Cooper, Elliza, John, Mitchell, Olivia and Ryder! What a phenomenal achievement to make it to the grand final at such a high level of competition, we are all so proud of you!

A huge thank you to Mr V. for coaching the team and to all the parents and families who supported the team and helped out with scoring on the day.

Lacrosse

Our Grade 5/6 students have just completed a 4-week program learning about Lacrosse. Students picked up the skills of the game really quickly and consolidated their learning with a round-robin in the final week. A huge thanks to Em from GeckoSports Maroondah for an awesome program! Enjoy some photos of all the fun we had...
