Term 4

Junior House Athletics

Well done to everyone who participated in Kalinda’s Junior Athletics Day.

Students participated in lots of different athletics activities; long and short-distance running, hurdles, shot put, discus, modified javelin, long jump and high jump.

It was an action-packed day filled with lots of fun! Students really enjoyed participating in all the different activities and cheering one another on while listening and dancing along to some music.

House points were awarded to three students from each class. These points were awarded to students who demonstrated either excellent skill, effort or sportsmanship. Once all house points were combined the results were as follows –

1st place Chisholm

2nd place Melba & Parkes

3rd place McCubbin

A very big THANK YOU to all the student leaders and teachers for their assistance on the day. Days like these aren’t possible without the help of everyone so THANK YOU!

Hoop Time Regional Finals

On Thursday the 9th of November a group of Grade 3/4 students participated in the Hoop Time Regional Finals. They were invited to compete at this level of competition as they finished in first place in the district competition. Leading up to this event the team trained once a week with coach Phil in which they would spend time working on their skills and game sense. From all reports, the team played exceptionally well together, and said that the level of competition was much harder.

On the day they finished in 9th place and won their consolation final.  A very big thank-you to Phil for not only training the team but also coaching and transporting the team on the day. Well done again, you should all be proud of your efforts.
