French News

Bonjour Parents and Students! 

In week 5, all the grades completed their Term 4 assessment and we were so glad to see how much they had grown in French this year!

In week 6, prep and grade 1 students both revisited the topic of food. They wrote and drew their favourite food and completed worksheet to match pictures with French words.  

Grade 2 kept practicing how to ask and answer questions in French. They learned new vocabulary about furniture in a house and practiced asking “What is this” and answering “This is…”.

Grade 3 students consolidated their knowledge of the placement of adjectives in a sentence and gender agreement of adjectives while exploring the new topic of classroom objects. They learned that some classroom object words are masculine, and some are feminine. They showcased their knowledge by drawing a picture of their classroom and labelling different objects and their colours.

Following the weather topic, Grade 4 students looked at different clothing items for different weathers. They learned a wide range of clothing vocabulary including accessories. Students wrote complete sentences to talk about what they wear for different weathers.

Grade 5 students focused on different elements in a sentence and practiced recognizing pronouns, nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs in sentences. Grade 6 students looked at the tense Near Future so that they could use this tense to talk about their future plans.
