During PE lessons, all classes have been focusing on Striking Skills. CEPS were lucky again to receive a Sporting School Grant in which Golf was chosen as the sport to have an ‘expert’ come and take classes. Every grade from Foundation to Grade 6 took part in a golf clinic from Golf Australia. Paul Boxall was our ‘golf pro’ who attended each session with the students. It was a fun and safe way for students to be introduced to hitting a (rubber) golf ball. Some of our students even mentioned they have golf lessons and showed lots of talent already hitting a ball. Anyone interested in learning more about golf or playing golf during the holidays or on the weekend search MY GOLF or click here Golf Australia to find your nearest location. Please enjoy some of our golfing photos.
Congratulations to Charley N who represented CEPS at Lakeside Stadium in the 1500m at the State Athletics Final. Charley ran a PB of 5 minutes and 29 seconds. Continue to Aim High Charley and everyone here at CEPS is very proud of you.
On Thursday afternoon, Cheltenham Secondary College music department visited our school to give a performance to our Year 5 and 6 students. The Junior Band started off the show, demonstrating what is possible after only a year of learning new instruments. Then the school’s Rock Band kicked the show into top gear, with our students loving each of their songs. It was great to see some of our past students in each of these bands. After the show, our students were able to trial different brass, woodwind or percussion instruments. We look forward to their next tour!
On Tuesday afternoon, while the 2024 Foundation students were experiencing Marvellous Maths, our current Foundation students worked with our current Year 5 students. This provided the older students with the opportunity to practise being a big buddy, in preparation for next year. All the students, in both year levels, really enjoyed this experience and worked well together.
Remembrance Day, observed on November 11th each year, marks the end of World War I and is a day dedicated to remembering the men and women who have served and continue to serve in the armed forces. It is a day of reflection, gratitude, and unity.
To support our school's efforts to commemorate Remembrance Day, we are offering poppies, pens, bracelets and badges for purchase at the school office. The costs range from $2 to $10. The poppy is a symbol of remembrance, and the funds raised from the sale of these poppies go towards supporting veterans and their families. By purchasing a piece from the office, you not only honor the memory of those who served but also contribute to a noble cause.
CEPS will be holding a special assembly on Friday 10th November for Remembrance Day at the Armistice Stage at 3.15pm. All welcome.
